The Korda Wide Gape is a true classic that has accounted for countless big carp captures over the years. Based on the iconic Maruta Kinryu hook of the 1980s and 1990s, it has been modernized with an eye instead of a spade end for greater usability.
It features a slightly in-turned eye, short shank, heavily forged bend, and a razor-sharp beaked point. Suitable for both pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it hooks, it stays in securely.
For snaggy waters or overseas use, the stronger Wide Gape X is available, and for truly extreme conditions, such as targeting giant Siamese carp or Mekong catfish, there’s the even heavier Wide Gape XX. The barbless Wide Gape B is perfect for waters where barbed hooks are banned.
