The Shimano Zodias Spinning is part of the exclusive Shimano JDM series and was developed for predator anglers who demand maximum control, sensitivity, and precision. This globally popular rod series combines a striking matte-black finish with a distinctive Japanese design. Originally developed for Japanese black bass fishing, the new Zodias has been further refined for European lure fishing. The improved balance and lighter feel in the hand provide comfortable and precise fishing.
This two-piece 2.29-meter version with a casting weight of 5–15 grams is suitable for light lure techniques targeting perch and zander. The Hi-Power X carbon blank reduces twisting during casting and improves power transfer, delivering long, controlled casts and precise lure presentation. The lightweight CI4+ reel seat and Carbon Monocoque handle transmit subtle bites and bottom contact directly. This provides extra sensitivity when fishing with softbaits and finesse lures, including in deeper water or current. When fishing more actively with twitchbaits and light jerkbaits, you benefit from the blank's stability and control.
