The Baitrunner Ci4+ XTB-LC is widely regarded as Shimano's ultimate Baitrunner. The legendary name, the user-friendly free spool function, superior line lay, and the weight-saving Ci4+ construction, all perfectly combined into one beautiful reel.
The Big (14000 spool) and Medium (5500 spool) Baitrunner Ci4+ XT-B reels replace the older XT-A models. This reel comes with a long list of features: HAGANE gearing, X-Ship, Hi-Speed Drag, X-Protect, Ci4+ body and rotor, and of course, the Baitrunner system. This Baitrunner reel is the most popular among carp anglers (specimen anglers) across Europe. The Baitrunner system is ideal for bottom fishing with, for example, fixed lead systems, where the free spool characteristics are desired.
The Medium 5500 version is most suitable for fishing on canals, smaller lakes, or from a boat with shorter rods. The Big 14000 version is more suited for fishing at longer distances, combined with distance rods, on larger waters and rivers. HAGANE gearing and X-SHIP provide smooth, powerful rotation with immense spool power. The aluminum AR-C spool is the same size as those found on our 5500 and 14000 size Big Pit reels and further benefits from Slow Oscillation combined with Aero Wrap, ensuring precise line lay. X-Protect technology offers the highest protection against water and dirt ingress with a labyrinth structure, while Hi-Speed Drag allows for quick and precise drag adjustments during the fight.
