The Shimano TRANX is considered the workhorse among baitcasting reels. This ergonomic baitcasting reel is incredibly strong, durable, and reliable, making it perfect for both freshwater and saltwater use. It is mainly used for fishing with larger and heavier lures on bigger fish such as pike and catfish. The TRANX is available in a slow gear ratio (5.8:1) for slow fishing with cranks, spinners, and large softbaits, and a High Gear option (7.6:1) for faster fishing with jerkbaits and swimbaits.

Thanks to its ergonomic design, the TRANX feels very compact in hand. The standard version retrieves 78 cm per turn with the double handle. For faster retrieval, the HG version with a single handle retrieves 103 cm per turn. This heavy-duty reel will never let you down. With a weight of just over 300 grams, the TRANX is not a lightweight reel, but it doesn't pretend to be. The powerful aluminum HAGANE Coresolid Body is equipped with MicroModule Gear for extra smooth performance. Hook a powerful fish, and you have immediate control. Armed with at least 10 kg of drag force thanks to the Cross Carbon Drag system, you don’t have to hold back during the fight. For precise casting, the TRANX features an SVS MD (MONSTER DRIVE) TUNE brake system with internal brake adjustment and an external knob.
