the hit and run system by pb products is specially designed for use with monofilament main lines. on more and more waters – both club waters and commercial day-ticket lakes – leaders and shock leaders are being banned. this is because a knot between a thick mono main line and a leader is often too bulky. in the event of a break-off, this knot can block the clip, preventing the lead from being safely released. to prevent this, this set offers a safe and effective solution that allows you to continue using the popular hit and run safety system.
assembly is simple. first, slide the included 5-millimeter ring onto your mono main line. then attach the leadclip and tail rubber as you normally would. instead of sliding a leader loop over the clip, tie your main line directly to the ring. the ring replaces the loop and ensures that the clip releases properly in the event of a break-off. slide the ring over the clip and you’ll have a fully functional, fish-safe safety system. for extra fish protection, you can also use anti-tangle tubing or tungsten versions.
this pack contains everything you need to get started: hit and run leadclips, tail rubbers, size 8 speed swivels, and 5-millimeter rings. a smart and thoughtful solution for anglers fishing waters with strict rules, without compromising on safety or effectiveness.
