The iconic Scope Recon Brolly is back – the ultimate shelter for the mobile angler. Now with even better protection against bad weather, premium materials, a removable mosquito mesh front panel and the same short transport length that perfectly matches Scope 9 and 10ft rod luggage.
The Recon Brolly features an ultra-strong 10,000 mm Aquasense® 150 x 150 fabric and robust 8 mm fibreglass ribs, combining strength and flexibility for extreme conditions. Designed for long-term use, season after season. Weak points have been eliminated – the central block is reinforced with stainless steel wire to prevent common breakage.
A space-saving central hub maximises internal height and space under the canopy by locking the ribs tightly. A Scope Four Fold Sleep System offers maximum space underneath, but a standard bed also fits.
The front storm panels are extended compared to traditional storm sides, similar to Titan Hide or classic Groundhog/Hog brollies. This additional coverage allows a bed to be placed at the rear, where it is almost fully protected – even from side wind and rain. The panels can be secured individually with elastic loops.
The extended inner skirt allows bed legs to be placed on top, keeping the brolly stable on wooden platforms or concrete where pegs cannot be used.
For summer sessions, tropical conditions or guest anglers, a removable mosquito mesh front panel is included. It attaches around the central cap and is pegged separately. Double elastics and loops keep the mesh tight for a full barrier. The high-quality zipper allows quick exit on a take.
The Recon Brolly integrates seamlessly with the Scope OPS Rod Skin range and is supplied in a waterproof roll-top carry bag with clip. This bag can be attached directly to rod skins or carried separately. The reinforced base prevents water ingress and damage from included storm poles.
Note: Because the carry bag is fully waterproof, a wet or damp brolly should be removed and dried as soon as possible to prevent mould and damage.
