The SLX DC is one of the most popular models in the beloved SLX series. It allows anglers on a smaller budget to experience our DC system. This SLX DC model features the I-DC4 Digital Control casting system, which automatically maximizes casting performance in various conditions, using different lines and techniques.
If you already own one of SHIMANO’s SLX models, you know how good they are. Thanks to its compact, smooth feel and excellent value, the SLX series has become hugely popular. This model goes a step further with the I-DC4 Digital Control system. This intelligent technology calculates the optimal braking force 1000 times per second to ensure consistent casting performance.
The SLX DC can be set to one of four modes, tailored to specific line types and techniques. It's available in three gear ratios and gives you full control over your fishing. Two sizes are available: the 151 for versatility and the smaller 71 for casting lighter lures.
The i-DC4 system is seamlessly integrated into the compact body. The modes include:
Mode 1: maximum casting distance (minimal braking)
Mode 2: for braided line
Mode 3: for fluorocarbon or stiffer lines
Mode 4: maximum control (ideal for skipping)
The built-in microcomputer generates its own power and automatically adjusts the braking force, allowing you to cast without worrying about backlash.
