This is one of the first groundbaits that was made by Sonubaits, it has really stood the test of time still being one of our most popular baits for all coarse fish.

Made from crushed fishmeal pellets, crushed hemp, and fishmeals, it is ground to a medium texture which allows the mix to be used in different ways. It was designed to be used in a cage feeder and mixed on the dry side so it comes out of the feeder easily. More water could be added if the mix was to carry chopped worm, maggots, or casters. Because of the speed at which it comes out of the feeder, it can be used to build up a swim quickly, finding favor with many specialist and match anglers.

Chris Ponsford says: "This is my favourite groundbait for fishing natural venues with a cage feeder, it catches Carp, Bream, Tench, Roach, and just about anything with a tail. It is great for plugging feeders as it allows me to build an area which means I can catch more fish quickly."

Mixing Guidelines:
Exploding Fishmeal Feeder is simple to mix. Empty the 2kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, for a really active mix, add 1½ pints of water, or for a mix that will carry more bait, fill a 2-pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait and mix thoroughly, then allow it to rest for 30 minutes, during this time the water will be absorbed into the groundbait. Then for best results, to remove any lumps and create an even consistency, pass the groundbait through a riddle and it is ready to use.

When fishing, sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little. To combat this, you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel, or if it does dry out, just add a little more water and mix again.
