Method feeder fishing is one of the most popular techniques used by modern match anglers, meaning the fish have likely been caught on it multiple times and may become wary or, in some lakes, change the way they feed.

This was noticed by Des Shipp when he kept getting knocks on the Method but they didn’t turn into proper bites. This was because the fish were knocking all the groundbait off the feeder without touching the hookbait, effectively leaving the hookbait with no feed around it, defeating the purpose of fishing a Method feeder. So, we decided to create a groundbait that was stickier, harder, denser, and easy to compact onto a Method feeder for venues where this happens.

Robin Red Method Mix has a very high protein content from fishmeals and ground pellets, which helps it compact around a Method feeder. This means it will easily withstand the impact of casting, hitting the water, and any knocks from fish trying to knock away the groundbait.

Included in Robin Red Method Mix is a quantity of Haith's Robin Red, a strong-smelling ingredient that has been used in fishing for years.

It’s not just a bait for the Method, as the name suggests. The high fishmeal content makes it perfect for making a paste for the pole by simply adding more water. If you prefer a really sloppy paste, keep adding water until you reach the desired consistency.

Mixing Guidelines:
Robin Red Method Mix is simple to mix. Empty the 2kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 2-pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait, and mix thoroughly. Let it rest for 30 minutes so the water is absorbed into the groundbait. For best results, pass the groundbait through a riddle to remove any lumps and create an even consistency.

When fishing, sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little. To combat this, cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel or, if it dries out, simply add a little more water and mix again.
