A firm favorite for match anglers in the UK and Europe on commercials and natural venues, this versatile groundbait can be used in a number of different ways.
It is made by crushing green Koi pellets to a fine, even consistency. Because of its fine particle size, it can be mixed to be quite sticky, perfect for the Method feeder, but still breaks down easily. Alternatively, it can be mixed a little drier, which creates the perfect feed for skimmers or F1's, or in shallow water, as it creates a fine spread of groundbait that fish will settle over and feed on, but without filling up. It is good for all species of coarse fish but has gained a particularly large following among bream anglers.
Dai Gribble (Specialist Angler) says: "Supercrush Green is the best groundbait for bream, it forms the base of my mix because of its strong fishy smell and it’s the right color to attract big bream. I mix it with chopped worm and fish it through a feeder, often spodding the same mix over the top to create a big spread of bait for the bream to feed over."
Mixing Guidelines
Supercrush Green is simple to mix. Empty the 2kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 2-pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait and mix thoroughly. Let it rest for 30 minutes, during which time the water will be absorbed into the groundbait. For best results, pass the groundbait through a riddle to remove any lumps and create an even consistency, and it is ready to use.
When fishing, sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little. To combat this, you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel, or if it does dry out, simply add a little more water and mix again.
