The SLX XT is an upgraded version of the hugely popular SLX. Built on the same HAGANE Body and with the same high-end gearing, the ‘XT’ version uses the advanced SVS Infinity casting brake adjustment, which makes it more suitable for lighter weight lures.
The SLX XT is a slightly more refined version of the original SLX and has increased versatility when it comes to casting lighter weight lures, yet still retains the strength and power of its older brother. If you already use an SLX, you’ll certainly appreciate the greater range of adjustment, and convenience, the SVS Infinity system offers. Adjusted by an external knob, you have almost infinite braking adjustment at your fingertips, enabling you to really dial in your casting performance, especially with lighter lures where only minimal brake pressure is required.
Like all of the SLX models, the ‘XT’ uses a high-end HAGANE Body made of lightweight aluminium, which is surprising for a reel in this price sector. This delivers a significant performance advantage when compared to inferior composite bodied reels, as a strong, rigid body works more effectively when under pressure. And you’ll certainly be giving your reel a thorough workout when you start cranking the slightly longer handle and applying pressure on a powerful fish. To smooth out the reels performance, an advanced aluminium S3D spool is fitted to the ‘XT’, along with an additional high-end ball bearing on the spool shaft.
